Canadian Nick Holder and his brother David under their moniker Toronto Track Symphony is the subject of this weeks tune. “Livin in da projects” starts with the ohh-so-mixable 4/4 drum beat, layered by samples of “Projects And High Rises” by Eddie Harris. In true Chicago house spirit it soon picks up pace with a nice wet and funky baseline. The old-school style disco trumpets and blow instruments over a little melodic loop also comes in. It loops, changes up a bit and comes back. All with a nice drive to it. Every now and then base and kick comes out, only to come back in again. It goes and goes, until it the tune at around 5:30 fades. This Chicago house track is smokin’, and you should listen to it.
